Our missions
Pursuant to Decree n° 2012/644 of 28 December 2012 on the organisation of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, the Minister is responsible for developing and implementing Government policy on employment, training and professional integration.
In this capacity, the Ministry is responsible for:
- Developing employment and vocational training policy;
- Studies on employment trends and the labour market;
- Studies on the evolution of job qualifications;
- Promoting employment;
- Defining training and professional integration programmes, in liaison with the relevant administrations and bodies;
- Defining organisational standards for apprenticeship and vocational qualification systems, and monitoring their application;
- Designing and organising short-cycle training activities;
- Career guidance and placement of the workforce;
- Organising and monitoring the labour-market integration of trained people;
- Organising retraining or reskilling activities for workers in employment and those who have lost their jobs;
- Monitoring the match between training and employment;
- Relations with companies and professional organisations, in liaison with the relevant sectoral ministries;
- Monitoring and oversight of vocational training institutions, in liaison with the relevant ministries.
The Ministry also monitors the activities of bodies involved in job prospecting and exercises supervisory authority over the National Employment Fund (FNE).
